A new urgent care clinic is coming to Jacksonville next year.

Memorial Health said construction is beginning for a Memorial Care facility at Lincoln Square Shopping Center, 901 W. Morton Ave. It is expected to open in February.

The walk-in clinic will be able to treat minor injuries and illnesses, from minor cuts and burns to minor fractures, sprains and infections. It will include an on-site laboratory and medical imaging services.

Telehealth options are also planned, which would allow for “virtual” visits.

“We are continually looking for ways to improve access to health care in the communities we serve,” said Travis Dowell, president and CEO of Memorial Medical Group. “Our urgent care clinics provide high quality care close to where people live and work. Our clinics also serve an important purpose: patients can use our Memorial Care clinics to receive fast, high-quality care for minor illnesses or injuries and avoid trips to the local emergency department, where wait times are often longer for non-emergency patients. .”

The clinic will be Memorial Health’s seventh urgent care facility in central Illinois.
