The 2022 Faculty and Staff System-Wide Virtual Forum is scheduled for September 29. The theme is “Meeting Students Where They Are: Promoting Learner-Centred Achievement and Belonging”..”
The goal of the forum is for participants to deepen their understanding of learning-centered achievement and belonging, share strategies for meeting students where they are, and identify ways to take action and implement what is learned.
The forum includes three keynote addresses and five breakout sessions. The planning committee invites proposals from open Purdue system members to offer their experience and expertise regarding topics and activities for the breakout sessions.
Each session will last 20-40 minutes and should:
- Focus on learner-centered achievement and belonging.
- Offer hands-on exercises, activities, and applications with specific takeaways for attendees.
- Include interaction and engagement with attendees (beyond a Q&A session at the end).
- Promote links between the various participants.
- Provide factual information.
Multiple formats are possible, including short “lightning” sessions (five-minute slide or poster presentations) as well as presentations, workshops and panel discussions.
Proposals should be submitted through this Qualtrics Survey no later than 5 p.m. on August 26.
Submission elements should include title, brief description, session objectives, contact details, and an abstract (300 words maximum) that addresses the above points and outlines the intended engagement technique for participants in the session.
Proposals will be blind reviewed by the Working Group Committee. All applicants will be notified of decisions by September 1.
