mental health breakfast was a success | Letters

As co-chairs of the Black Hawk Grundy Mental Health Center-UnityPoint Health Breakfast on May 13, we were overwhelmed with community support with a record 700 attendees.

Susan Rollinger has opened up about meth addiction and the death of her brother Matt. Such a powerful tribute. Keegan Morrisey bravely opened up about his anxiety issues. Both definitely captured the attention and emotions of the attendees. Thank you to the masters of ceremonies, Kathy McCoy and Joe Vich, for their exceptional participation!

For any event, sponsors are a necessity and many have come forward when asked. You are the best.

Matt was co-chair of the Grow Cedar Ambassadors, and so many people were there to honor his memory. He was proud to call you all his friends.

Special thanks to Kim French, Allen Foundation, and her staff for coordinating the event with the planning committee. Good job.

Thank you to all who have generously contributed to assist the staff at Black Hawk Grundy Mental Health Center-UnityPoint Health who are dedicated to improving the lives of the people they serve by providing quality, innovative mental health care.
