Deanna Hillard joins Interact for Health as a program manager supporting 38 school health centers

For more than 20 years, Interact for Health has worked to improve access to care for children through health centers in schools. Deanna Hillard recently joined the foundation to support the work of the 38 current school health centers and develop additional opportunities to improve children’s health and reduce health disparities.

As the program manager, Hillard is the primary contact with grantees and potential grantees, providing support, mentoring or technical assistance to help grantees achieve their goals.

“School health centers bring together educators, health care providers and funders around the common goal of keeping children healthy and capable of learning,” said Ross Meyer, vice president of strategy at Interact for Health. “With her experience in the non-profit sector and her enthusiasm for making the region fairer, we believe Deanna will bring new energy and new ideas to our work in this area. ”

Hillard joins Interact for Health after working for the National MS Society, where she most recently served as Senior Director, Volunteer Engagement. In this role, she oversaw a team of four responsible for coordinating over 100 events per year and engaging 7,000 volunteers. Hillard led the team in refocusing its efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, establishing new ways to virtually engage volunteers.

Prior to joining the National MS Society, Hillard worked in the area of ​​community outreach with the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio and as an AmeriCorps member. She holds a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Kentucky University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Cincinnati. Hillard is a member of the Sigma Gamma Ro Sorority and the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society. She is active in the Junior League of Greater Cincinnati, as President of Leadership Development, and with the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
