Creation of a search committee for the new law school in Brooklyn

Brooklyn, July 14 10, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Brooklyn Law School Board of Trustees, in consultation with the faculty, convened a search committee to determine a successor to Dean Michael T. Cahill, who announced in June that he would return to his previous position as full professor at the end of the 2022-23 academic year.

Eileen T. Nugent ’78an attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, and a member of the law school board, will chair the search committee.

“I am delighted that Eileen Nugent has agreed to chair the search committee,” said board chairman Frank Aquila ’83. “On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, I would like to thank all members of the Search Committee for taking on this crucial task.”

Joining Nugent and Aquila, who will participate as ex-officio committee members, will be other alumni and board members, as well as prominent faculty members:

The search committee welcomes nominations and other recommendations for consideration and these should be directed to Nugent, Aquila or any other member of the committee. Once the search committee selects the finalists, it will provide members of the Brooklyn Law School community with the opportunity to meet the nominees and provide their input.
